The song embraced the sixties and stayed true to the shake 'n' fingerpop spirit of the era. Arguably the ultimate summertime, party-time band of the '80s, The B-52s gave us upbeat, beehived-out dance tunes and constructed a world that was a far more appealing place to be. They were simply a delirious escape from 'modern' life. There’s was a dance music that binged on vintage, raiding the wardrobes of mythology, science-fiction, popular culture, children's stories, puns and free-association.
